If you’ve applied for a job in the last ten years, you know it can be a complete shitshow. The typical process included submitting hundreds of applications, most of which you never hear back from. In many cases, resumes are scanned for buzzwords and you never talk to another human.
It shouldn’t be this hard. We have millions of people out of work, and millions of open jobs. We just need to connect the two. If you can find love through a left or right swipe, why can’t you find a job?
On the Hinge dating app, you input preferences and then receive that grouping. We should do the same with job hours, duties, pay, and other vital environment settings. And even if there’s a skill gap, that’s easier to overcome than leaving the position vacant.
Obviously, some work requires proximity. But a growing number don’t, and if a company wants someone bad enough, they might just pay moving costs.
