I currently work as a reporter for The Center Square covering Michigan and Minnesota government.
I previously worked as a financial analyst for Pepsi where I cut cold food costs by over $500,000 within three months.
I’ve combined my economics and journalism skills in much of my work. I’ve interviewed, NFL players such as Andre Holmes of the Denver Broncos, and former Foundation of Economic Education President Leonard Reed.
I’ve also audited $13.2 billion of farm subsidies given by the U.S. government in 2017, investigated $903 million of high school spending in Texas, and analyzed 2,500 pages to fix a $75,000 problem within my first three weeks at Pepsi.
My writing spans across 100 other newspapers across the U.S. Check it out here.
When I’m not working, I spend my time hiking, reading, and drinking espresso. Check out my past work and goodreads account, follow me on Twitter @scottmcclallen, click here to weekly recaps for The Center Square.
